individual who is a direct descendant of John Stafford and Margaret Brunt. This

My grandfather was Fletcher Stafford, my father was Thedford (Ted) Stafford.
Dad had 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Dad thought his great-great grandpa may have
been named Charles. Charles was one of two brothers that migrated from Canada.
My Staffords are all creative (most of them carpenters, brick layers,and stone masons.
My grandpa and my dad bear some resemblance to the picture of your grandfather.
I am quite interested in finding out about the Staffords, but haven't a clue

I've obtained the book "Descendants of Laban Stafford". Laban
Stafford had a son James which little is said about in the book. James is my
3rd great grandfather. His son Byrd Reed Stafford and his 3rd wife, Julia
Snelling are my great-great grandparents. I feel as though James must have been
the black sheep of the family since I can't find very much about him or Byrd
Reed. Byrd, known as B.R., had around 18 children so there must be some infro
out there somewhere for me. I'm not too good with the computor--don't even know
what is meant by gedcom. I've been told there are pictures of B.R. and that he
kept a diary throughout his life. It would be nice to find them. Phyllis

John and Mary Stafford resided in Liverpool England when a son Joseph was
born in 1812 followed in 1815 by John and then Elizabeth in 1817. Joseph
committed a petty crime at 18 years of age and was banished to the then penal
colony of Australia to serve his 7 years sentence. He eventually became free
and married a young Scottish girl Janet Ferguson with the union producing 12

My father was a Stafford. Born August 18, 1919 in St.Louis Michigan. His
parents were Izora (robart) Stafford and James Arthur, or Arthur James
Stafford. They were married in Alma Michigan about 1910-1912. He had one older

My grandfather died about 1939/1940 as my mom has remembered it was shortly
before her and dad were married in late 1940. My grandfather also had a brother
& possibly others, who's name I don't know but was alive when my parents
moved from the Detroit area (they lived first in st.louis mi)to Constantine
Michigan about 1950 and lost track of him. Anyway I just saw the date of your
reunion and since that was my dads birthday I thought maybe, just maybe that
was a sign that there is some relation or that you'd be able to help. My
grandmother refused to speak my grandfathers name and wouldn't speak of any
family. I don't have much to go on, but any advice or help will be greatly

At least three Straleys married Staffords in Giles County in the mid and
later 1800s. The original Jacob Straley (1782) homestead is still in the
Straley family, located on Rte 730 / Eggleston Rd just east of Staffordsville.
There were also a couple of Straleys who married the Johnstons you refer to in
your genealogy of Giles County. If I can find the time I'll try to record all
these details through use of your family forms through your site. You've done a
marvelous job putting this site together and including all the wonderful

August and we rotate between Indiana and Michigan family’s homes, we went to
this practice to rebuild interest and attendance. For many this is the first
time other family members’ homes and also allows many of us to see different
and new part of the country. We usually have 2 day get together reunion dinner
is at high noon on Saturday. This year we will meet at Mike and Sharon Eaton
Metts at Wanatah, Indiana, it is my understanding they are going to roast a
hog.

My grandmother was Naomi Maud Stafford Williams. She was the daugher of John
Wade Stafford. She was born September 13, 1891 and died in Giles county and
made her home at Trigg with the Herman Staffords until October 31, 1986. She
was a great lady. She had 9 children, my father was number 2, Leonard Buford
Williams, Jr. My parents are still living and make their home in Narrows, Va.
Giles County. My dad was born on august 28, 1918. I am the oldest of the
Williams' children, born august 25, 1947 and I have two sons, one that lives in
Pasadena, Texas (PatricK Lynn 9/23/67)(two daughters, Katie and McKenzie Jane),
and my oldest lives in Covington, Virginia. His name is Michael Blaine
Hendrickson 4/25/64, and he has one daughter, Kylie Born 11/6/1998. My grandmother
Williams had scores of great grands. I miss my grandmother a lot!!!!

my great-grandfathers name is William E. Stafford and he was an only child.
He was born aprox. 1880 and died aprox. 1970. His fathers name was Joseph. He
said he was raised by his dad and his foster mother. My grandmother said she
doesn't know what he meant by that, but that's what he said. He married Grace
Alice Smith who was also an only child. She passed away 73 years ago. My
grandmother was 8. His second wife's name was Stella Smitley...I am not sure of
the spelling of the last name. They lived in Pennsylvania, around Fayette
County. My great grandfather raised both of his families there. I am not sure
if he was raised in Fayette Co, or even PA, himself. If anyone has any
information, I would greatly appreciate it. I am willing to share whatever
information I have.

married to Adam Johnston. Their son, Edward C. Johnston and his wife Madolyn
Cribbs II Davis are my Maternal Great Grandparents. The Madolyn Cribbs' are 6
generations strong and still going and are direct decendants of Jefferson Davis
(of Little Rock, Arkansas), President of the Confedaracy of the United States,
as well. Madolyn Cribbs I, married Thomas Davis, the grandson of Jefferson
Davis. Thomas and Madolyn I's daughter is Madolyn Cribbs II, who married Edward
C. Johnston (Edward being the son of Elizabeth James Stafford). They had two

married Donald Case and had a daughter, Madolyn Cribbs IV in April of 1941, who
is my mother and is living in South Carolina. Madolyn Cribbs IV married Gerald

b. 1960), son Gerald J., Jr (b. 1963), and daughter Katie King (b. 1972 also
named after the mother of the first Madolyn Cribbs, Katie George King, also of

My name is Cheryl. I am very new at this. James Leroy Stafford was my
father. He was born 11-6, 1927. In Stanley, Pushmataha, OK. His father was
George Albert Stafford, born Indian Territory in 1884. Death Delano, Calif
1954? Married to Fannie Siotha Belflower. Marriage date oct. 6, 1919. My
parents were divorceed when I was very young and I was not in contact with the
Stafford side of the family much. I can not find George Albert Stafford's
parents namrs anywhere I've looked so far. I've tried cenus, marriage, births,
deaths, land ( I do know they had a ranch and owned some small stores. Also
that George Albert Stafford went to college. He may also have been an only
child.? Thank you for any info or suggestions of where to look.

I live on a thirty-acre wildlife refuge near the Appalachian Trail. I was
born in Berks County, PA in 1930. My father was Horace Clayton Stafford, and my
mother was Emma Elizabeth Hill. Most of the Staffords in our family live in the
Reading area of Berks County. I'm trying to compile a family tree, but I can
only trace back to my great-grandfather, John Stafford, who was born about
1840, so far. My father loved music, he'd played a mandolin in his younger
days. I also love music, and used to sing at weddings, and I also write poetry.

“The Indiana Eaton Flat Landers Klan” I am told by cousins, Sharon, Tony
Eaton, Giles County VA. That the Eaton’s left Fermanagh County, Ireland in
1802, landed in Philadelphia, Pa. stayed there until 1806, then moved to Giles
County, VA, then on to LaPorte Co. in Oct 1834. LaPorte County has our
ancestors; listed in their “Book of Earliest settlers” all born in Giles County
VA.: John and Susanna Lindsey Eaton are the parent of Charles G. Eaton b. 2,
Jan. 1827, age 7 when he came to Indiana, and is our Great Grand Father, Thomas
b. 15, Nov. 1819, Thomas L. 15, Dec 1819, and William b. 7, Nov.1816. (I assume
Thomas is the same person) The 1850 Census only shows Thomas L. (age 31
Virginia) and wife Margaret Campbell (age 25 from Ohio) Eaton d. 1864. They
married 1844 settling in Clinton Township and having 2 sons John W age 4 yr.
and Charles 3 yr.
