Fred Emory Stafford
Fred Emory Stafford, (1879-1934) in uniform, Charlie's grandfather and
Violet's father, was a NY Central Railroad policeman who died of heart
failure while investigating a red flare in the railroad yard in Weehawken, NJ. The
red flare turned out to be the flash from a brakeman's lantern.
