Nobel Mason Raines, Jr. at the fork in the road between Trigg and Staffordsville, Virginia.  The marker that Mason is standing next to commemorates another of our family members.  The "Mountain Evangelist" referred to on the marker is Brother Sheffey who was married to Elizabeth Stafford.  Brother Sheffey is well know for his preaching throughout this area of Virginia, especially in the Abington, Virginia area.  There is a book in print that tells his story.  He was quite a dynmamic preacher.
